- Can you turn a Breech baby? Well, the answer is complicated. You see, I'm not an OB/Gyn physician, I'm an Acupuncture Physician and therefore, I cannot treat your baby. However, it's worth noting that if a patient, with a breech baby, comes to me for Acupuncture during the third trimester of her pregnancy and I treat her with Chinese Medicine, over 80% of the time, the baby gets into the proper position for labor, ironic isn't it?
- How long will it take for me to get pregnant using Chinese Medicine, I've already been trying for two years and I'm getting impatient! Well, remember that patience is a virtue. Chinese Medicine isn't designed to "create babies" on a schedule. What I can and will do is help you to figure out why you're not getting pregnant, if there isn't a known physical abnormality and I will begin the process to balance and heal your body. It could take 3 cycles, it could take 9, it might just happen right away. There is no "answer." If you choose to try Chinese Medicine, you must have patience and be willing to give your body time to heal itself. I will give you an estimated prognosis at our first meeting.
- Can you induce labor with acupuncture? It's a lot like the answer to the breech baby question. I am not an OB/Gyn and therefor cannot treat your baby. However, 9 times out of 10, if a patient comes in for acupuncture and she's a week past due, after I treat her, she will go into labor within 24 hours, just because I regulated her body.
Herbal Therapies and Supplements
I use herbal remedies that are specifically formulated for your body and your specific imbalance. These aren't supplements that you would buy at the health food store. These are herbal formulas that are created by Chinese Medicine Doctors for specific imbalances. Sometimes, I prescribe a formula that is a "classic" and has been around for centuries, other times, I will create a formula specifically for you and your problem.
I also carry Jarrow supplements as well as supplements from Fair Haven Health for your convenience.

"Today I'm saying Thank You to Kasie Carlson for being instrumental in both of my children's births. First was Joey, born on 7-14-07. My due date was June 27 and the circus started shortly after. At a week overdue I was advised by my midwife at Labor of Love Birth Center to be check by a physician to make sure baby and I were healthy and could continue to "wait it out". Within the next week I saw two doctors and two level II sonographers, with the final sonographer at Morton Plant hospital. All advisors said baby is healthy but looks VERY large, plenty of fluid, and the placenta looks fine, BUT because of the age of the placenta, I could kill my child if I don't start the laboring process NOW ( including cervadil that night and patocin the next morning ). My fiance and I decided to make an informed decision and because my baby and I were in such good health, we left the hospital ( of course after signing my "life away" in a release form saying the hospital is not held responsible if my baby dies and I went against doctors orders ). So we left and went bowling to clear our minds :)
I was given a referral from My midwife Crystal Day to go see Kasie Carlson ASAP. In these two weeks I'd tried walking miles, castor oil 3 times, nipple stimulation, sex, carrying a warm two liter to try and trick my body into believing it was a baby... I was willing to try anything. On my 16th day overdue, I called Kasie. She was so helpful and even came to my house that night at 8pm for a session of acupuncture. She asked tons of questions to make sure I was already doing EVERYTHING in my power to bring baby ( house prepared, baby bed prepared, my mind prepared...to make sure I wasn't blocking labor unintentionally ). This was my first baby and my first time getting acupuncture so I was nervous all the way around.
At about 3 am I went into labor, and by 636pm that same evening I had a beautiful 9lb 11oz boy with no medication, just shear will and determination.
Now I have a new little girl named Lily born 7-16-09 and Kasie was right there to help me through. This time I was only 7 days overdue when I called her for help and we did a session that same evening. My water broke the next night and the rest is history.
