I started out my career path as an actress, a little different than Chinese Medicine, huh? I did musical theater for many years and actually have a Bachelors Degree in Musical Theater. I was a singer/dancer/actress for more than 10 years. I lived in Chicago and LA and was always happy as a performer, until I became unhealthy. Being sick all the time prompted me to research alternative healthcare and at the end of the day, I was so interested in it that I decided to take the plunge and enter school for Chinese Medicine. It was a LONG three years of school but so worth it. When I graduated with my Masters in Chinese Medicine, I was 8 months pregnant. I had a horrible labor and delivery with my first daughter and that prompted me to start researching pregnancy, labor and delivery. I developed a healthy obsession with this process and I have very strong opinions on all of it. I realized when I was in school that so many acupuncture physicians treat "everything." I don't believe that I can be an expert on everything. So, I decided to specialize and focus ALL of my energy, knowledge and passion into one area. I hope that I can inspire you, help you and be there for you when you need me.

I also want to share one of my many opinions with you. It is simply an opinion, something that I feel passionate about and believe in for myself. I believe in the natural birth process. Now, don't take me as niave, I've been that woman who was transferred to the hospital from the birthing center and had western Doctors save my life and the life of my baby. That said, I also want to say that I believe each and every woman should be able to labor her own way, she should be able to have her birth experience be what she wants it to be. I will never judge anyone for not doing things naturally but will always try to let people know why I'm an advocate for natural birth and why I love it! I have had a emergency c-section but I've also experienced the joy of a successful VBAC and take it from me, natural, vaginal birth is the most empowering and wonderful experience that I know of on this Earth.
